Position Overview

In summary, the Director - Category RGM, SSD Portfolio Strategy provides thought leadership to the Sparkling Business Unit (BU) and the broader Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) organization in shaping direction our system takes in marketplace for our Sparkling portfolio Revenue Growth Management (RGM) strategy. The role is responsible for portfolio RGM strategy across Sparkling Soft Drinks (SSD) brands and working with the CCNA Brand teams, Commercial & Natioanl Retail Sales (NRS) Teams and bottlers to ensure that all consumer occasion needs states are met (“white space”) to optimize category volume, revenue and profitability. This requires holistic business understanding, analytical mindset, cross functional leadership and strong influencing skills

  • Owns the stewardship of performance vs. business plan from a Portfolio/Category/Brand/Package lens.

  • Provides insights and analysis required to ensure a clear view of risk and opportunities vs. plan.

  • Partners with cross functional colleagues to develop acceleration initiatives to capture additional growth as needed

  • Supports the annual planning process through consumer and shopper insights understanding and opportunity mapping

  • Strategy development and quantification for all category Sources of Growth (SOG) to be incorporated into the annual business planning process.

  • Provides insights and analysis required to ensure a clear view of risk and opportunities vs. plan.

  • Partners with cross functional colleagues to develop acceleration initiatives to capture additional growth as needed.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

Strategic thinking and strategy development –

  • Provides leadership & continued stewardship for SSD annual business planning process with consumer and shopper insights understanding and opportunity mapping

  • Accountable for establishing SSD elasticity modeling and forecasting

  • Provides direction to flavors portfolio OBPPC

  • Coordinating with key stakeholders to track and communicate progress against SSD portfolio and brands

People leadership & development –

  • Organizational effectiveness – lead sessions with leadership team, brands commercial organization, NRS, finance and bottlers to enhance effectiveness and employee engagement on on-going basis

  • Employee engagement – seek out opportunities to enhance employee engagement Core people processes – talent management, performance management

Functional & Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen thru the ability to create a mid and long-term vision for category and a path to achieve that vision, anticipating future needs of marketplace and business; demonstrates innovation/creativity

  • Strong change management capabilities – demonstrates innovation & creativity to create novel business solutions; ability to influence/gain alignment across divergent perspectives.

  • Collaborating with brand, strategy & K&I teams and other key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing wide variety of stakeholders,

  • Leadership skills with high accountability in decision making for a balanced short & long term win in market place

  • Proven track record for delivering sustainable results

  • Effectively communicates & builds relationships at all organizational levels; communicates long-term vision and shorter-term opportunities through clear & simple messages

  • Drives organizational performance, efficiency and effectiveness by translating analytics into actions and sustainable results.

  • Strong POV, communication and influencing skills

  • Analytics experience – ability to draw insights and actions from data

  • Planning experience; strategic thinking with forward-looking vision
