The Coca-Cola Company Senior Manager, Public Affairs in Shanghai, China

Position Overview:

We are now seeking a high-judgement, and result-driven public affairs professional to join the function. The Public Affairs Senior Manager will play a key role in collaborating with OU PACS team, cross-functional network and the China system, to build and maintain stakeholder relationship in OU host community, provide public affairs insight, and preempt operational risks to support the sustainable business growth.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong networks with host government agencies for GCM OU headquarters to positively influence TCCC's reputation and ensure operation continuity;

  • Facilitate the Coca-Cola system engagement with various types of external stakeholders, including governments, associations, and academies, to advance TCCC China business goals;

  • Provide insights and counsel to the business functions and create clear understanding of the major political /policy strategies that may impact or influence business operations;

  • As part of the networked team of PACS, work with the relevant internal stakeholders to support system in risk management and prevention, especially for operational risks;

  • Monitor and understand the host government agenda and policies to provide timely analysis and assessment on relevant local policy issues, and drive opportunities for the company headquarters developments;

  • Lead the system efforts to enhance PACS community capability buildings.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred

Related Work Experience:

  • 10+ years' experience with government relations / public affairs, previous government background is a plus

Functional Skills:

  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Making sound judgement with ambiguity, work independently

  • A demonstrable track record of managing issues and handling crises

  • An enthusiastic problem solver and hands-on communicator

  • Familiarity with government structure and policy making process, as well as having a solid understanding of and ability to communicate the dynamics of the business environment
